Bill Millett is a photographer and filmmaker who lives and works in Glasgow. Hismain focus is on utilizing the camera as a canvas on which he attempts to paint with light. The works fragment the subject matter by focusing on the rays of light and merging the of color as opposed to how light allows us to formulate reality. As Bill states he focuses on illustrating the ephemeral nature of reality by deconstructing its components freeing the viewer from the constraints of narrative
Beyond the Fence (2009) confronts us with our own limitations, conscious and unconscious. The work is subjective a visual meditation, it aims to bring about a process of visual osmosis allowing one to step beyond the horizon. Thus offering the viewer the opportunity to explore ones own existence
Fall from Grace (2008) explores the illusion of reality by focusing on the reflecting light as opposed to how light allows us to interpret reality. The video painting examines the process of existence, as the tapestry of color dissolves only to reemerge and dissolve again.
