Richard Lainhart is an award-winning composer, author, and filmmaker - a digital artisan who works with sonic and visual data. Since childhood, he's been interested in natural processes such as waves, flames and clouds, in harmonics and harmony, and in creative interactions with machines, using them as compositional methods to present sounds and images that are as beautiful as he can make them.
Lux (2008) is an abstract film animated in Adobe After Effects. The soundtrack, "The Beautiful Blue Sky", is a realtime electronic synthesizer improvisation for Buchla 200e synthesizer and Haken Continuum Fingerboard controller.
Drift (2008) is an abstract HD color field film created entirely in Adobe After Effects. The soundtrack is an improvisation for electric lap steel guitar processed with the Kyma System.
