The Briefing Center documents the choreography of the political bodies at the G8 summit in Heiligendamm. Beyond any criticism of the political targets the summit may have, the film offers insights in the staging and the protocol of the mass media event G8.
Vida en otro lado is a portrait of a settlement in the direct proximity of the American-Mexican border, which, shaped by the Babylonian bustle of its inhabitants, spreads across several hills. The spontaneous development of the residential area in Mexico, allows for the survival of free spaces and creates a vivid counter draft to the manipulative interventions by urban management and housing development on the other side of the border. But it also shows the necessity of union amongst the people, who want to accomplish their life independently in an impassable territory.
MUSIC by Robert Henke. He is a Berlin based producer, mastering engineer and music software developer. Besides his musical output under the project name MONOLAKE www.monolake.de, he released a bunch of more academic computer music works and is part of the development team of the software Ableton Live.
